Quilt Symposium 2010

Today was a great day; the weather was in the 80’s with a slight cool breeze, not a rain cloud for miles and the North Carolina Quilt Symposium is in town! My morning started early at 8:00 a.m., (I’m not a morning person, and Saturday’s I really struggle to get out of bed before 9:30 a.m.) a friend and I headed to beautiful uptown Charlotte to go to the quilt show. There were so many gorgeous quilts displayed, I have selected some pictures of a few of my favorites.

Not only were there beautiful quilts, but there were lots of vendors from all around the state. Each vendor seemed to carry a little something different ranging from beads, wool, patters, notions and of course wonderful fabric! I managed to pull some restraint from somewhere and only buy a small amount of fabric for a current project I’m working on (no fun… I know…).

By the time we finished walking the quilt show I was starving, we headed to place near by called Dish.  If you are ever in the area, it is a casual restaurant that has a great variety of choices on their menu.  The staff was very friendly, the food came out super fast and a little side note, they are going to be a featured restaurant on Diners Drive-ins and Dives.  Check ’em out.

  1. I love the quilts you have chosen. The owl one is fab but I have to say I think the fox and rabbit on the second quilt are just gorgeous!!
